Overview
Introduction
We know that time is often of the essence so, while this site is built out to give you a deep and personal understanding of the consumer segments overall, we also know there are moments when you simply need a quick overview, which is why we've put these few slides here.
This segment overview lays out the key differences between the segments, from what motivates their look, to what they expect from their clothes, to the opportunity for Banana Republic and their current relationship to us as a brand. Shopping habits and touch-points are also given. In the final line of the chart, you'll notice that we haven't used a 'male to female' ratio, but rather, a 'masculine to feminine' ratio.
Here we look at the segments' consumption across social media, how they tend to use it, as well as the types of magazines [whether online or as actual artefacts] they enjoy, along with where they're consuming their news from. Whether it's to help us work out the spaces in which to sell our stories, the places to promote and PR or where our advertisements will get the most attention, this simple chart helps us to navigate among the differing gazes of the consumer segments.
